O’Paint is a 2D Drawing/Painting application that I’m currently developing in ‘Game-Maker : Studio’ and which is particularly targeted for Android Touch Devices but can also be run on Windows Platform.
Yes, ‘Game-Maker : Studio’. It is the successor to ‘Game-Maker 8.1’ in which I had developed ‘Tales Of Mushroom Land’ & ‘Game-Maker HTML5’. Studio is superb offering porting for various Platforms like Android, iOS etc, also comes with ‘Cocos 2D’ – which is a popular 2D Physics Engine and there are many other features that can’t be listed out over here.
The app is still not yet completed and currently I’m working on some important mechanics that are required in my app. Mechanics like ‘Choosing Brush Size’, ‘Proper Pencil Strokes’ etc. Now it’s been a month that I’m working on this app.
To get more information about O’Paint, please go to the ‘MY WORK!’ section and from there go to the page named as –
‘ Android Stuff In ‘Game Maker : Studio’!! ‘.
So far I’ve made use of – ‘Particle System‘ & ‘Surfaces‘ – two powerful features offered by Game-Maker : Studio.
Following are the screenshots of my app till it’s current progress. As I was unable to capture screenshots on my Android Device, I took them on my Windows system.
I’ve posted screenshots by making use of both the features – ‘Particle System’ & ‘Surfaces’. However Surfaces proved to be much better than Particle System.
At the bottom of the page, you will find two ‘APK’s’. One using – ‘Particle System’ and the other using – ‘Surfaces’.
Simply click on them/on the link provided to download the APK files (if you want to).
You can test these APK files on your Android Device. Regarding the project file for the same, I’ll be posting it in a few days.
